Speedy’s Community Chest
It has always been important to AA-Air Company to give back to the community that supports us. Now we have a new way of giving and you get to be part of the process. Every other month we will be donating funds to three local organizations. You can choose your favorite below. You may vote once per day for your choice. The organization with the most votes at the end of the active voting month will receive $1000 from Speedy’s Community Chest. But not to worry, second and third place will receive $500 and $250 respectively. Individuals may vote up to once per day with a registered email. Don’t worry, your email won’t be spammed or sold.
Contact us if you would like your organization or community group to participate in the future. Participation is available no more than once annually.

Smoky Mountain Meals on Wheels
Smoky Mountain Meals on Wheels proudly serves the area senior population in Blount County Tennessee. We currently serve over 500 seniors traveling over the 567 sq. miles of mountain, foothill and country roads to deliver so much more than just a meal. Over 200 volunteers donate their time and talents to the nutrition program monthly spreading a trail of love with each moment.
We are now assisting the community with RAMP, Rural Area Meal Program, to target an individual’s need and address the root cause of the personal food shortage. Many seniors are still able to prepare meals but have a hard time getting to or affording food. Some need the assistance of prepared meals but can refrigerate and reheat. Others need the highest level of service with daily hot meals delivered at lunch time.
We have grown from serving lunch to a max of 125 individuals to an astounding 625+ units daily. Our hope is we can keep up with demand in our limited facility. No one in America should go to bed hungry. Especially our seniors and children.
In just a few short weeks Habitat For Humanity’s 2019 Women Build will begin. Erin Gillison, system designer here at AA Air Company will be joining other women to help a local mother build her home here in Knoxville. Erin will be onsite to volunteer on May 18. You will find her on the roof that day.
Please vote for Erin and the 2019 Women Build.
Volunteer Ministry Center (VMC)
Volunteer Ministry Center (VMC) was established in 1987. It offers specialized services to the homeless and those within our community who are in crisis. VMC’s programs support its two-fold mission of facilitating permanent supportive housing for those who are homeless and providing services to prevent homelessness. In addition to The Bush Family Refuge, VMC operates three other main programs: The VMC Resource Center, Minvilla Manor, and The VMC Dental Clinic. The goal for all clients is housing. Utilizing case management and the ‘Housing First’ approach to ending homelessness, VMC assists individuals into permanent, supportive housing and provides the resources necessary to maintain housing. Once housing is achieved, the case management relationship continues until a level of self-sufficiency is reached, thus ensuring success.
